Portland and Cape Bridgewater were the earliest towns settled in the South West . Portland has a very interesting history trail to follow with many magnificent old buildings, many are blue stone.

The surfing and the fishing attract many to our bay and the locals love it. Everyday people walk the beach with their dogs. Schools hold their outdoor ed. programmes here as they can canoe at the lakes, surf, abseil and bushwalk. Many windsurfers and paragliders enjoy the area.

There is a wine trail to follow in our area. Barrett's Winery is nearby and you can enjoy tasting high quality wines in a tranquil country setting.

The only mainland colony in Victoria of 750 Australian fur seals can be seen by taking a tour by boat.

Cape Bridgewater is at the end of The Great Ocean Road in the far south west of the state. It has majestic capes and a wonderful bay with surf rolling in onto 4km of beautiful white beach. It is next to The Great South West Walk, 250 km of excellent walking trails. The scenery is spectacular with lakes, The Blowholes ,The Petrified Forest and The Springs to explore.

We hosted the Victorian State Surf Life Saving Carnival this year as there is the best beach in the state...4km of beautiful white sandy beach and plenty of surf. There is a Club on the foreshore and the beach is patrolled in Summer. 3 Bays Marothon happens during the Portland Bay Festival.
