SUPPLIER GUIDE
2. Authoring your Listing
2.2 Listing Descriptions
Short Description is used whenever your property appears in the results of a search conducted by a guest, or if you are a Premier Listed client, it will appear when you're accommodation is highlighted.

Detailed Description will be used on your main listing page, or if you are a Premier Listed client, it will appear when you're accommodation is recommended.

Your Short or Detailed Descriptions may NOT contain any contact information, such as your telephone, fax, email or website url. Displaying this information will be breaking the terms and conditions of listing on AUSGO, and may cause removal of your listing.

Please read the following tips for authoring your detailed description:-

  • Your listing will look better if you make this description is essay style rather than bullet points of facilities, as facilities will be listed automatically.
  • Make your listing search-engine friendly by inserting very specific phrases which say exactly what you specialise in, e.g. 'pet friendly holiday house' or 'five star resorts in cairns with a spa'. Incorporate these phrases into your description.
  • Copy and Paste it into Word, then run a spell check. Use good punctuation, a mix of upper and lower case, and break your description into paragraphs to make it more readable.
Business Facilities : Entice corporate clients to stay by advertising your business facilities, such as a business centre, conference rooms, catering options, internet access and so on.

Cancellation Policy : Please provide your cancellation policy, which will be enforced by AUSGO.

Getting There : How to get to your hotel by car/bus/train from the airport and/or capital city CBD.

Check-in Instructions : If you own self-contained accommodation, or have check in requirements which go beyond the guest simply arriving at the accommodation premises, e.g. a key needs to be picked up, or there are things the guest needs to be aware of, put the instructions in this section.
