Manual Allotment |
|
Supplier Home shows the status of all room unit types for the forthcoming week.
There are three room statuses, defined by their colour on the calendar (refer to this diagram).
- Sold (Black) : when:
(a) You have marked the room as sold using 'Sold' or 'Stop Range' (J on diagram) (b) You allotted rooms have been sold or held (N on diagram).
Guests cannot purchase a room with this status.
- For Sale (Green) : Rooms are available for immediate purchase by a guest if the 'Allot' value (G on diagram) is greater than the (Sold + Held) aggregate, and the 'Stop' box is unchecked. See M on diagram for an example.
- Unknown (Grey, P on diagram) : If Allot, Sold and Held are 0, and the room isn't marked it as 'Sold', it's unknown whether you can supply this room. See P on diagram for an example. If someone tries to book a room with an unknown status, you'll receive a Booking Request.
The commission you pay is determined by the status of the requested rooms.
If all rooms requested will have a status of 'For Sale' (green), the guest can purchase them immediately and you pay a lower commission.

Automatic Allotment (Auto-Sell) |
|
This functionality automatically allots units for sale on specified weekdays, without you having to remember to do it manually.
The advantages of this are:-
- When an accommodation seeker wants to book a room immediately, he/she can secure that booking on the spot. If you don't allocate any rooms, you must respond to an availability request. This delay can cause a customer to choose elsewhere if the booking can't be secured immediately.
- You pay a lower commission on bookings where all requested rooms have been allotted.
To automatically allot rooms, use the menu to access 'Rates :: Rack Rates'. In the Auto-Allot column, click the arrow to expand the panel.
Qty : The number of units that will be automatically allocated for sale on a particular day of the week.
For example, a value of 2 in Monday's Qty column will automatically allocate two of that unit type for sale every Monday (up to the Days+ value in advance).
Days+ (Days in Advance) : How many days in advance you will auto-sell the unit type, on a given day of the week.
For example, a value of 21 in Monday's Days+ column will allow guests to purchase the (unsold) 'Qty' of allocated rooms on any Monday up to three weeks in the future.
'Days+' value can be left blank, but if you allocate a 'Qty' of units, this means there is no restriction on how far into the future a room can be booked on that weekday.
It is recommended that a value is entered in this column, as you may not want people buying rooms years in advance.
Note that if you take advantage of this feature, you must make sure that the rooms you allocate are available, requiring you to be diligent in your upkeep of sold rooms in the bookings calendar. |

Which Rate Applies? |
|
There are a number of rates that can apply for a room.
These include override rates, last minute rate, seasonal rates, and rack rates. So which one applies on a given day?
The precedence is:-
- Override rate. This is where you enter a value in the Rate column in Supplier Home. This has the highest precedence.
- Last Minute rate. Takes predence over seasonal and low rates.
- Seasonal rate. If the night falls within the night range(s) of a season you've added, this takes precedence over the low season rate.
- Low (default) Season rate.. If no other rate is detected.
